Bad/Good Day
10/04/2004
Every day is getting colder and colder here. The wind makes it even worse. A lot of people weren't expecting it yet and didn't even have coats.
Anyway, I got my computer science test and program back today. My test grade was 92/100, best in class (yay!), and he took out the last problem so my grade is now 92/84. My program had mixed messages on it when I got it back. The points were all filled out and I didn't miss one. The grader, who is a student, apprently thinks that my program looked too similar to the class demo program. One of the requirements of the program states that the program cannot resemble the demo too closely. When I turned it in I thought mine looked very different. If I got the grader's grade then I would receive a 0 on the assignment. The grad student teacher put at the bottom of the paper that he would give me a 90/100. I think this is complete bull. I earned 100 points and I deserve all of them. After being pissed off the rest of the day I finally e-mailed him telling him I didn't intend to make it resemble the demo, etc, etc. He told me to talk to him during his office hours tomorrow, so I'm planning on getting all my points back then.
What is so stupid about this is there is no way I could cheat by looking at the demo. The demo is only a picture and includes no code at all. Everything I created was from my own mind. The assignment was to create a scene, or picture, using only rectangles and ovals. There is only so many things that you can do with just those two shapes.
Anyway, tomorrow hopefully I will get my points back.
Right after this happened I had a linear algebra test. So I was really pissed off and went into a test. I think I did well but I don't really know because I wasn't really paying attention.
