Finals Week = Frustrating
4/26/2005
As the topic states, finals week has been frustrating so far. Besides just studying for my finals there has also been the issue of finding a job. I've been getting calls for stuff but it's been hard to decide what to do, especially when I'm supposed to be studying all the time.
I've had one final so far, World Cultures, which was probably the hardest test I've taken from that professor. As long as I did 'okay' I think I'm fine. So far so good studying-wise for the other finals. I have a bit to work out for Discrete Structures though, it's been a very frustrating class.
I'll try and post more often when I get back from school. I'm not sure what I'd even post about but I'll try anyway.

Almost done

Two more weeks and I'm going to be back in Green Bay. This week will be the last 'normal' week and then the week after that is finals week. Of course, my classes all have their finals towards the end of that week so I have to stay the full time. So far it looks like I will have 4 or 5 finals, depending on my statistics class.
Like always, I'm going to claim I have been too busy to update. Lately I've mostly been busy with programming. Between my classes I've had three programs due in the past few weeks and they've been pretty time consuming. I just have a little more work to do on one of them and then I should be done with programming until next semester.
Ubuntu Linux released their newest version a few weeks ago. It's called "Hoary Hedgehog" and it is a nice upgrade from their last version. Ubuntu is becoming the most popular Linux distribution very rapidly, even passing bigger names like Red Hat and Mandrake. If you don't want to download the installation CD and burn it, they actually send you free CDs. Go here to sign up for CDs, they are pretty nice.

Study lounges/libraries

I read and do most of my homework in the study lounge at school here because I like how it is quiet. Also, I like to be away from my desktop so I don't get distracted. However, each time I go to study there is always someone who either lets their windows startup sound play out loud or lets their cellphone ring.
Now it really doesn't bother me that much, I just think it's funny after watching this clip of a guy doing a 'prank' in a library. Each time I hear the startup sound in the study lounge now I laugh because it really would be funny to play a really long one.
I pick my classes for Fall 05 tonight and I hope everything goes okay. So far none of the classes have filled but two of them are getting very close.

I was planning on posting a few days ago but either the connection here was messed up or Blogger was having problems.
Anyway, we only have a few more week of school left up here. We get out on April 31, or that's when the finals end. Of course, I have a final on that Friday so I have to stay the whole time.
If you haven't heard, Gmail is expanding their storage to over 2 GB. This is really cool and hopefully will make other places do the same instead of giving people a miserable 2-5 MB. If you want to see how much space they are currently at, goto their main site (logout of your inbox) and they have a counter which is increasing every second. If anyone wants an invitation to Gmail (if there's actually anyone left) then send me an e-mail.
