Update
5/28/2005
This past week has been a very busy one. The company I work for has started me on a 3 week training program. It's very interesting but it's really early in the morning (7am) and it's about 30 min away. It also ends 5-6PM, so it's a pretty long day usually. It's been very useful so far though.
Today I went and got a new cellphone and plan from Cingular Wireless. Our old plan didn't offer much of anything. The old plan had barely any minutes and no extra features (like voice mail, caller id). Cingular offers a lot more things that appeal to me. Free extra features, rollover minutes, and a ton of night and weekend minutes.
If you want my new number IM me or e-mail me and ask for it.
That's about everything that's new with me.

XBox 360 = good; MTV = bad
5/14/2005
If you didn't see it, MTV had a special from Microsoft in which the XBox 360 was shown for the first time. Gamers were expecting to hear about the system itself. What's inside and what games we might expect to see when it comes out later this year. However, instead we got to see a bunch of "celebrities" play XBox and talk about what they think about it. The show never spoke about any accessories, hardware, or only talked about Perfect Dark Zero (which I'll talk about more later). I have yet to see one good reaction from the MTV show. It was horrible. I guess it was catered towards the normal MTV crowd though.
So the only game they really showed in 'detail' was Perfect Dark Zero. The game has been in development since the Nintendo 64 era, when Rare was publishing for Nintendo. Obviously, they weren't working on XBox 360 style graphics at that time but if you take a look at the game, it looks very poor in quality compared to some of the other games.
Oh yea, if you're a geek then here's the specs for the XBox 360:
- IBM PowerPC based CPU with three cores at 3.2 Ghz apiece
- 500Mhz ATI graphics processor with 10MB DRAM
- Detachable, upgradeable 20GB hard drive
- Three USB 2.0 ports
- Built-in Ethernet port
- Built-in 802.11a, b, and g Wi-Fi
- All games support16:9 widescreen, 720p and 1080i resolution (and standard definition output)
- 48Khz 16-bit audio, 32-bit processing and over 256 audio channels
Built in wi-fi? Upgradeable hard drive? 3 processors? This thing is one hell of a computer.

Too much spam!
5/11/2005
I've been getting a lot of spam for a long time now but it hasn't really been annoying until recently. I get home from work and I don't immediately check my e-mail. Of course, when I do check it I have 100+ e-mails, 95% of which is spam. I almost have to plan ahead when to check my e-mail so I have time to delete it all. Mozilla Thunderbird has a nice spam filter but it is no competition for my spam. It catches about 30-40% of it, pretty bad.
My job is going pretty well so far. I've been helping out fix computers and some other computer tasks. I'll be in a programming training program later this month, so I'm pretty excited for that.

Job!

Well the interview I was talking about went very well and I was offered an internship position for this summer! I'm pretty sure I'll be working a normal 8-5ish shift during the week. They're going to train me on some stuff so it sounds like a good opportunity.
More later probably.

Schools out + more!
5/03/2005
Well school got out last Friday for me. The final I was most worried about was on Friday and I think I did pretty well on it. I think I can find out my grades in the evening tonight, but we'll see.
In other news, I have a job interview today and I should have another one in the near future too, once I get the call back. Both of them are in the area so that's a big plus right now.
I will now be bringing a car up to school next semester. We looking at the Chevy Equinox, Saturn Vue, and Chevy Trailblazer. The Equinox has an indented windshield so it looks like it would build up with snow, it seemed like a stupid design to us. The Vue had a similar problem and the Trailblazer is very nice but it really isn't a car that kids drive. We ended up getting a Pontiac Grand Prix instead. It's a really nice looking/feeling car. I'm very impressed.
It's been really nice to come back home and I hope things continue to work out well.
