Almost break time
11/04/2005
Thankfully, it is almost Thanksgiving time which means that Michigan Tech is giving us a week off! I will be home on the 18th and go back the 27th or something like that. It will be nice to have a week off of doing homework and such. I think I'll need to catch up on sleep, eventhough I probably won't anyway.

The job search has been going well. I've received interest from several places and one company in particular has offered me a co-op position for summer and fall next year. So this means I won't be living in Green Bay this year :(. However, I will probably have an apartment so you can all come visit me if you want to. I don't want to post too much about it so if you're curious then just ask me.

A few days ago a long lost friend contacted me on facebook. We were born in the same hosiptal in New Jersey a day apart. I remember we would do things together and our moms were really good friends, but that's about it. I've been told funny stories about the stuff we did but I can usually never remember it, only bits and pieces of everything. She does remember stuff though, it's pretty fun to listen.

Lexar has shipped me a new USB thumb drive after I had my old one fried by the computer. I never realized how much I relied on that thing until it was gone. I feel naked now when I want to transfer things between my computers because I don't have anything that has enough space to do it. I'm glad they replaced it though, because I haven't even had it a year and it already died on me.

I'm starting to realize how dangerous driving up here is around deer hunting/mating season. Yesterday I was taking a friend back from getting some things out of his wrecked car (not from a deer though) and we almost had an accident ourselves. We were right across from a state park when I saw a deer on the side of the road. Obviously I slowed down but I still kept going around 30 or 40 since it was on the opposite side of the road. Then the deer decided it would be a great idea to run across the road in front of me. Thankfully, we weren't going that fast so we were able to stop about 10-15 feet from the deer, which then ran into the state park.
