Almost done
4/26/2006
So the finals so far have all been really hard. I guess Physics wasn't too bad but I won't really know until I know how I did. Thankfully, that final didn't change my grade at all as long as I did ok on it. Only one left, Cryptography, tomorrow morning.
I decided to switch back to Windows on my computer I have here at school. I've come to think that Linux just doesn't really take full advantage of the hardware I have in my computer, mostly because there aren't drivers for them in Linux. Since I'll be moving to Rochester in a little while, I just decided to put Windows back on this computer and then to use my old IBM Aptiva for Linux since it won't really run Windows XP as well as I would like.

Finals week
4/23/2006
This week is the dreaded finals week. So after studying most of the day today (err... yesterday I guess, since it's early morning) I should be almost ready for my first exam. Here's the schedule:
Mon: Algorithms 3-5
Tue: Operating Systems 3-5
Wed: Physics 12:45-2:45
Thur: Cryptography 10:15-12:15
Thur-Fri: Pack and go home
In the past semesters I've always had some tests that didn't really matter, or that I didn't have to do well on to keep my current grade, but this semester that is not really the case in any of them, except maybe Physics. That means I have to study really hard for all of them, instead of concentrating on one or two more than the others. Oh well.
The Goo Goo Dolls are releasing a new CD in a few days which I might end up picking up soon. It looks like they already have released two of the songs on the CD though (Better Days and Give a Little Bit) so I guess it isn't entirely new music, but it's better than nothing.
Edit: So I made this post early morning Monday but Blogger isn't letting me publish it. So who knows when you'll actually get to see it.

We're done!!
4/20/2006
After working many long hard hours on our Team Software Project for this semester, we are finally finished!! Our project was to create some Palm OS software to receive real-time data from an accelerometer sensor and then graph it while the data is coming in. We had a lot of issues but we hammered them out over night last night (yes, all night) and it's all finished. There were times that I regretted picking the project but now that I'm done with it I'm very glad I picked it.
Tomorrow is the last day of classes. I'm actually sort of sad to see the year come to a close. I really like it up here, even if sometimes I say I don't. Now that I realize everyone is going home again it kinda sucks. I have four finals, one each day Monday through Thursday. I'm not really sure which day I'm leaving yet, but it will be either Thursday or Friday.
Oh, and happy high five day!!!

Post

Hi everyone.
We are in the last week of school here and it's getting pretty hectic with all the work due. Hopefully I'll be able to get everything done on time. I can't say I'm really looking forward to leaving for the summer.
This school year has been by far one of the best years I've had, in terms of how I've felt, in a long time. I probably owe a lot of that to the fact that I was able to get out and do things more this year. I think having a car up here helps a lot. THere is only so much you can do on campus. A lot of the reason has also been from Sarah, who I can't thank enough for spending so much time with me this year. It has also been really nice to have Justin and Jeff around. Basically, there has been no time this year when I've had to just be alone, I've always had someone there to do something with at the drop of the hat.
This summer I'll be living in Rochester, MN until late December. I'll be on a co-op and I hope to get some good experience. It's a little intimidating, but I'm sure it will be fine. I will definitely miss my family, friends in Green Bay, and friends from college a lot. It will be a challenge to be away from home and friends for the first time.
