Streak at 7
6/30/2007
Cubs won again, this time versus the Brewers who are leading the NL central. They were losing the whole entire game until the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs when Aramis Ramirez hit a 3-run homerun to win the game. I was listening to Ron Santo announce the game at work and you could tell that the ball was hit really well because he screamed after the ball left the bat. Cubs and Brewers play again at 3pm today on Fox. Should be a good game.
I dropped a "travel bug" in a Geocache a few weeks ago. Travel bugs are dog tags which you attach to an item and give a 'mission'. When people visit the cache they take the travel bug and move it to another cache which corresponds to its mission (hopefully). A few days ago someone picked up the one I left and said he/she was taking it south. So I'm excited to see where it ends up. Check it out here.

Go Cubs Go
6/27/2007
The Cubs are currently in a 6 game winning streak in which they have been hitting very well. The pitching has been pretty good too, except for a few games. The other night the Cubs let 5 or 6 runs score in the 9th inning. They blew a 5 run lead and then had to win the game in the bottom of the 9th on a Soriano 2-run single. It was pretty exciting though. It seems like this team is finally starting to get good, like they are supposed to be.
There really isn't much new with me. I've just been working and hanging out. I started riding my bike to work now, since it's not that far away. I'll probably do it every day now as long as it isn't really hot out or any chance of rain.
Cubs play the Brewers this weekend. It's a pretty important series since the Cubs can narrow the Brewers lead on the division. Also, both teams are really hot right now so the games should be fun to watch.

Webcam is back
6/21/2007
I have no idea what went wrong, but the Apache server on my computer that hosts the webcam images just decided to stop working at all. I've changed to another method and it's now working again.

Webcam down
6/15/2007
You may have noticed the webcam is currently down. I looked to see what the problem is but it's not extremely obvious to me. It seems like the port is possibly being blocked. I'm going to Green Bay for the weekend to see Mike, my older brother, so I won't have time to fix it until next week.
I'll post when it's back up.

Biking
6/10/2007
Yesterday was a pretty fun day. About 10 people from work, mostly in Justin's department, and I went down to Lanesboro, MN to the Root River bike trails. It was a good chance to get to use my new bike rack that I got right after school ended. It's a small one, only fits two bikes, so I just took my bike and Justin's bike. We rode between Lanesboro and Peterson and back which was about 27 miles or so. The cool part about the trail is how it goes through some small towns along the way. Unlike the Douglas Trail in Rochester, the towns have little places to stop and get things to eat or drink. In Peterson we stopped for a break and got ice cream and refilled water. We also went out to eat at a place called Pedal Pushers when we got back into Lanesboro. Overall, it was a really fun trip. There was talk of doing another trip sometime so that would be fun too.
Other than that, nothing else is really new. Next week most of work is going to a Rochester Honkers game, so that should be pretty fun.

Quick post
6/06/2007
I'm pretty tired so this is going to be a quick post.
I got the movie from Netflix this week and I have to say it was a really good movie. If you aren't familiar with it, it's a film based off of the series Firefly which ran for one season on Fox, I believe. Both the series and film are loved by sci-fi movie-goers. Because I liked the movie so much I decided to put the only season of Firefly on my Netflix queue so I can see what I've been missing. I think the first DVD should be coming tomorrow or possibly Friday.
I made some changes to the pictures section but they probably won't really matter to you at all. Previously, each gallery had its own page and html which was annoying to have to create when I wanted to add new photos. Now when you go to the pictures section it will search a database and find all the galleries and display them on the page. When you click on a gallery it will load the same webpage but will pass an id in so the page will load the gallery with the sent id using the database. I also wrote a little program to automatically convert pictures to smaller sizes for me and a program to create SQL to I don't have to manually insert new pictures into the database.
Anyway, my point is that things have changed behind the scenes and it's much cooler now.
Go Cubs.
