Chat with me

I added a new "chat with me" feature to the side bar. There was a link to chat with me which was previously there but if you ever clicked on it you would see that it never worked. You can thank AIM for that. This new chat uses Google Talk, but you don't need to have a Google ID or anything. Just click the chat icon and say something and it will load up a chat window with me. If I'm available, I will come and chat with you.

I'm pretty tired so this is going to be a quick post.
I got the movie from Netflix this week and I have to say it was a really good movie. If you aren't familiar with it, it's a film based off of the series Firefly which ran for one season on Fox, I believe. Both the series and film are loved by sci-fi movie-goers. Because I liked the movie so much I decided to put the only season of Firefly on my Netflix queue so I can see what I've been missing. I think the first DVD should be coming tomorrow or possibly Friday.
I made some changes to the pictures section but they probably won't really matter to you at all. Previously, each gallery had its own page and html which was annoying to have to create when I wanted to add new photos. Now when you go to the pictures section it will search a database and find all the galleries and display them on the page. When you click on a gallery it will load the same webpage but will pass an id in so the page will load the gallery with the sent id using the database. I also wrote a little program to automatically convert pictures to smaller sizes for me and a program to create SQL to I don't have to manually insert new pictures into the database.
Anyway, my point is that things have changed behind the scenes and it's much cooler now.

Finals week

This week is finals week at school so I'll probably be pretty busy studying and working. I'm probably going to head home Thursday of this week to get a few things done at home and then my dad and I will be headed back to school to move everything to Rochester next week.
The Firefox problem with the website that I mentioned in the previous post has now been fixed. It took forever to fix it though, it was very frustrating. As a break from studying, I put up a new theme as well. I'll probably be messing around with the colors for both themes from time to time. Remember, you need cookies enabled to view something besides the default theme (which is black).

Website update

I'm sure you've noticed the changes I've made to the site the past day or so. If you come to the page in the next few days and something looks horribly wrong, chances are I'm trying to work on something and will probably be fixed within a few minutes, so just hang in there are refresh it.
The different sections of the site (links, pictures, and stuff) will all be coming back online shortly. I have to convert them over to this new look.
There is still a problem with this layout and Firefox. If you scroll down you'll notice the background of the center disappear which makes the text really hard to read if it's toward the top of the page. I'm working on fixing it but I don't know when it will be done.
I'm also going to make more themes eventually, so don't worry if you hate this black one.
