spam museum
There is a museum dedicated to Spam in Austin, MN which is about 45 min away from Rochester. Since it was so close, when my parents and brother came to visit I decided it would be something interesting to go and visit. Along the highway to Austin you see several billboards trying to get you to stop at the museum. Even promoting "Free bathrooms!" and that they'll even answer ingredient questions. Well we got there and it's actually a pretty hot tourist destination. There were a lot of people there when we went. The admission is free and you even get to try a free sample, which can be good or bad. I had my first piece of Spam ever and it was the spicy version of it. It wasn't too bad when I ate it but about half an hour later my mouth had this fatty/horrible aftertaste which I had to get rid of with some animal crackers. I did not leave this interesting place empty handed though, I purchased a Spam Museum shirt to show off that it does actually exist. Here are some pictures from the museum.
